About the event
Hi! My name is Constance Worth, preferred name is Connie. I was born Deaf, profoundly Deaf, in Scranton, PA. We moved to Pennsylvania, where I went to a special Vanguard school before mainstreamed into hearing kindergarten to 12th grades. In the special school, I learned to speak and read my first language which is English. I also learned to lipread. I did not learned ASL until age 22 when I went to National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID/RIT) in Rochester, N.Y. After graduation from NTID and RIT, I went to California for two years. Moved to Maryland for my job at a printing company. I worked at the company for 32 years until I retired, then moved down to Florida where I currently resides. I have been signing for 43 years now and still learning new signs!
